sms messaging
last updated: 2026-05-28
planet sends SMS messages only when a user takes a specific action inside the app. by entering your phone number in the planet app and tapping "send magic link" — or by being invited to an event by a friend who already uses planet — you consent to receive the messages described below.
message types
sign-in links: a one-time URL we text you after you tap "send magic link" in the app. tapping the link signs you in. links expire 24 hours after issue and can be used only once.
event invites: when a friend who already uses planet invites your phone number to an event, we send a one-time URL that opens the event. invite links expire 14 days after issue.
we do not send marketing, promotional, or recurring messages. every SMS is triggered by a specific user action.
message frequency
low and bounded. a typical planet user receives fewer than five SMS messages per month — usually one sign-in link when they switch devices, plus the occasional event invite from a friend.
how to opt in
open the planet app, enter your phone number, and tap "send magic link". this is the only opt-in path for sign-in messages.
event invites are opt-in by virtue of someone you know choosing to invite your phone number to an event. you can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving them.
how to opt out
reply STOP to any planet SMS to unsubscribe immediately. you will not receive further sign-in links or event invites at that number.
you can also email the address below and the operator will remove your number by hand.
opting out of SMS does not delete your planet account. to delete the account itself, email the address below.
how to get help
reply HELP to any planet SMS for a short auto-reply with contact information.
for anything else — including questions about a specific message you received — email the address below.
message and data rates
message and data rates may apply. planet does not charge you for SMS, but your mobile carrier may. check your plan if you are unsure.
email jacobhirine@gmail.com and the operator will handle it by hand.
